The Crown Field Pedigree Cotswold Sheep Flock.

Wool is re-emerging as the go-to product for numerous uses. Managed by Hattie, our flock of Cotswold Sheep are native to the Cotswold Hills and have been farmed in this area for over 2,000 years. The ‘Golden Fleece’ as it is known is extremely high quality and became famously valuable in the middle ages, forming the basis of the region’s and later the nation’s wealth.

Hattie has taken up spinning the wool from our sheep to make hats and also pompoms, and has also used the peg-board weaving technique to produce much loved pet beds.

Wool has the amazing property of actually giving out heat when made wet, and retaining good insulation properties throughout. – That’s why fishermen and those who work and play outdoors love it so much!
