The Cotswold Reindeer Herd is in the heart of the Cotswolds, and is home to a herd of reindeer who live out their lives in family groups, cared for by their owners who are passionate about their well being. Peaceful and rural and yet located on the outskirts of Cirencester. In 2018 we opened our first lodge to the public, giving people the opportunity to have a luxurious stay in a quiet rural setting. Our Lodges are converted reindeer houses and have also been home to Santa Claus!
Reindeer Lodge is designed as accommodation for up to 4 adults. It has a luxury king size four poster bed, and a double sofa bed in the main room, an en suite bathroom with large shower, and a small but well-appointed kitchenette, with fridge, combination microwave, and a kettle. There is a private garden to the rear, with parking at the side. Bi-fold doors open up the living area onto the decking, providing a substantial area to relax and enjoy the view
Santa’s Lodge is designed with the same luxury in mind, but can accommodate up to 6 adults. With a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and shower and 2 separate bedrooms each with a large double bed, and a fold out double sofa bed located in the living/kitchen area.
Both lodges are fully insulated, and double glazed for year-round coziness. Mains electricity, linen, towels and tableware are provided; along with a welcome pack containing tea, coffee, milk, and a bottle of wine. The lodges are equipped with wood burning stoves, for those cooler evenings, and a starter pack of logs will be provided (further bags of logs can be purchased from us during your stay).
Guests can expect to see some of the reindeer herd grazing just a few yards away in their paddocks, as well as a view of our ponds and Santa’s Forest walkway through one of our Christmas tree plantations.
A personalised tour of our reindeer can be arranged and is complimentary for our guests to meet and get up close to these amazing creatures; just ask when you get here!
If our guests wish to bring additional friends to our site during the day times of their stay, they are welcome, however this requires our prior permission beforehand and incurs a nominal cost of £10 per person per day or part thereof, payable in advance.
There is a lovely country pub just two minutes’ walk away from the site, which also serves food all day. to non-residents. Additionally, we are located close to the Cotswold Water Park, and numerous other local attractions, the area also has many beautiful footpaths.
