The Cotswold Reindeer Herd is in the heart of the Cotswolds, located on the outskirts of Cirencester. In 2018 we opened our first lodge to the public, giving people a luxurious camping experience in a quiet rural setting. The lodge is a converted reindeer house and has also been home to Santa Claus! It is now designed as accommodation for two, which can be increased, using the sofa bed, by arrangement. Guests can expect to see some of the reindeer herd grazing just a few yards away in their paddocks, as well as a view of the walkway through our Christmas tree plantation.
The lodge has a king size four poster bed, and a double sofa bed in the main room, an ensuite bathroom with large shower, and a small but well-appointed kitchenette, with fridge, combination microwave, and a kettle. There is a private garden to the rear, with parking at the side. Trifold doors open up the living area onto the decking, providing a substantial area to relax and enjoy the view. The lodge is fully insulated, and double glazed for year-round cosiness. Mains electricity, linen, towels and tableware are provided; along with a welcome pack containing tea, coffee, milk, and a bottle of wine. The lodge contains a wood burning stove, for those cooler evenings, and a starter pack of logs will be provided (further bags of logs can be purchased from us during your stay).
There is a lovely country pub just two minutes’ walk away from the site, which also serves food all day. Additionally, we are located close to the Cotswold Water Park, and numerous other local attractions, the area also has many beautiful footpaths.
Due to the reindeer, we do not allow dogs. We are also a non-smoking or vaping site.
